| The threshold of a new era for parishes
Very local councils are standing on the threshold of a new and exciting era according to a series of Parliamentarians and local government councillors. This was the unanimous message coming out of a fringe event hosted by the National Association of Local Councils last night at the Liberal Democrat Party Conference in Birmingham, which also saw calls for a share of business rates for local (parish and town) councils. |
