‘Local councils EXPLAINED’ is NALC’s new book about local councils. The book provides easy to read narrative about the role of parish councils, their councillors and officers and how they work. There is comprehensive and practical guidance about the legal issues that local councils are exposed to.
NALC currently produce two flagship publications for the local government sector.
LCR is the official publication of the National Association of Local Councils. It is an essential quarterly guide for all clerks and councillors and all those involved in the first tier. With town and parish councils now at the fore of government thinking on neighbourhood governance, LCR continues to provide an important and valuable insight into this expanding sector.

DIS is a fortnightly news service which can provide you with a one stop shop for all the latest information which is relevant to the first tier.
