The National Training Strategy was formed in 2001 to look at the standards in training development and to work to bring the sector to a high level within local government, please click here to view the 2001 NTS.
In 2010 the strategy was reviewed with a new five year vision produced for the sector. This revised National Training Strategy (NTS) firstly makes proposals for the next few years to meet the challenges ahead. Secondly it informs the reader of the journey the NTS has taken since its beginnings in 2001 and celebrates its considerable successes.
The initial scoping of the strategy was based on four key headings which frame the findings and the strategy itself:
