The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) today has published its new publication highlighting the good work England’s 10,000 local (parish and town) councils are doing more for their communities.

Points of Light is a collection of case studies highlighting the work that local councils are undertaking to support their communities. The 2019 edition contains 150 case studies, which includes; summaries, electorate, precept and expenditure.

Cllr Sue Baxter, chairman of NALC, says: "Once again, local councils have stepped up during challenging times. Providing a range of services while keeping precept rises to a minimum. The case studies clearly illustrate why local councils are an essential part of the community.”

The research undertaken has come from a range of sources, such as; articles from LCR magazine, Council Spotlight, entries to Star Council Awards and local news stories.
