NALC Lobby Day calls on remote meetings, real action on standards and support on climate change

lobby-day

Today's National Association of Local Councils' (NALC) Lobby Day saw local (parish and town) councillors and county associations meet with MPs and parliamentarians from across England.

NALC and county associations, in their discussions, called on MPs and the government to reintroduce remote meetings, to take real action on civility and standards across local government, and for proper support on climate change.

This year's Lobby Day included a Peers' Briefing, which empathised the key points of the day and called for creating new councils to be simplified.

Lobby Day is an integral part of NALC's advocacy programme to promote local councils to parliamentarians. It takes place annually and involves representatives of NALC and county associations meeting with MPs and peers.
