White Ribbon steering group meets to discuss White Ribbon Day
The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) White Ribbon steering group discussed NALC’s plan for this year’s White Ribbon Day when they met on 4 October 2023.
The group planned how NALC’s plans to celebrate the day, which includes a group video showcasing support for the cause (find out how to submit your video), social media campaign, blog posts, and news stories to raise awareness of White Ribbon UK to the local (parish and town) council sector.
This was the first steering group meeting since NALC officially achieved its White Ribbon accreditation in August 2023, and discussed the progress of the action plan and the success of the quarterly meetings to attain accreditation ahead of schedule.
The group mentioned the White Ribbon UK APPG and suggested that NALC get involved to help raise awareness and challenge male violence against women and girls in all forms.
