NALC meets with trade union ALCC to discuss developing working relations

meeting 2

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) met with the trade union for professionals in the local council sector, the Association of Local Council Clerks (ALCC), to discuss working closer.

The meeting on 25 April 2024 discussed mutual interests, such as promoting civility and respect within the sector and workplace, forming closer ties by involving ALCC in workforce activities and committing to meet at least twice a year going forward.

NALC also heard more from ALCC about the trade union's development since 2016. Its membership now stands at around 1,000 local (parish and town) council clerks and other officers.

The meeting included NALC chair Cllr Keith Stevens, NALC chief executive Jonathan Owen, Isle of Wight Association of Local Councils and workforce lead Cllr Bob Blezzard and ALCC general secretary Linda Hedley.
