Achieving any award level is a great achievement, and your accreditation will last for four years. But, you may wish to move up an award level faster than that! You can register for a higher award level at any time following the same process you just completed.

The aim of the Local Council Award Scheme is to support councils' improvement ambitions and to make moving up the award levels as simple as possible.

So if you apply for a higher award level within 12 months of your previously successful accreditation you will receive a 20% discount in the fees and the panel will not need to revisit evidence that was previously approved.

Now that you have your award you might want to think about other ways to recognise and celebrate the achievements of your council. There are options, the first being NALC Star Council Awards, and second is Council Spotlight. NALC would love to see your hard work recognised in this way.
