Survey Feedback Pays!

A little feedback has gone a long way for Sarah Pengelly, Town Clerk at Broadstairs and St Peter’s Town Council, the lucky winner of this year’s conferences and events survey prize draw.

Sarah was one of the hundreds of you that filled out the survey issued earlier this year, providing valuable feedback to us here at NALC for our Conferences and Events review.

She was delighted to receive an iPad mini last week: “I've been a Town Clerk for 18 months now: I feel I've got my feet under the table, but this is the first time I have won anything! Winning the iPad mini came at just the right moment: my previous tablet had to go back to the shop after developing a manufacturing fault. I'd wanted a replacement, but thought I should wait until Christmas just in case Santa had a plan for me: and now the gift has come from NALC.”

She describes Broadstairs and St. Peter's as a lovely place to live, work in and visit, but says that there is always something that can be improved. Sarah stresses the importance of her supportive staff, councillors and the training that she has received – since starting her role. She said: “Training and events are a great way to network and gain knowledge fast, and I'd encourage long-standing clerks as well as newbies like me to do as much as you can.  The survey was a great way to give feedback about the training I have had already, as well as the training I would like to have in future. Thank you for listening, NALC!"

Our ambition at NALC is to best serve you, our members, so listening and gathering your feedback is essential. The results of the survey have helped us to look at the format, location and content of our conference and events programme for 2015 – and beyond.

Look out for details of our programme in the New Year and please continue to support our work by engaging with us and completing our surveys. You never know, next year a prize could be yours.
