NALC congratulates Queen’s Birthday Honours 2015

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) would like to congratulate individuals from the parish and town councils sector on being recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Cllr Ken Browse, chairman of NALC, said: “Congratulations to everyone from the parish and town councils sector who has received an award in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list. It is brilliant that these people have been acknowledged in this way for their outstanding contribution, impact on public service and dedication to local communities.”

Community Services:

  • Cllr Douglas Sim, chairman, St Bees Parish Council, receives a BEM for services to the community in St Bees

  • Cllr Malcolm Leeding, Risinghurst and Sandhills Parish Council and Forest Hill with Shotover Parish Council, Oxfordshire Association of Local Councils and NALC; receives a MBE for services to local government

  • Carol Weaver, Tattenhall Parish Council, Housing officer for services to the community in Tattenhall, Cheshire

  • Rosemary Bennett, journalist for services to the community in Newbury, Berkshire

  • Tracey Creed, Guston Parish Council, Chairman for services to the community in Guston, Kent

  • Margaret Gray, Lancaster Parish Council, Deputy Chair of the PC for services to the community, especially to the Heaton Graveyard in Bradford, West Yorkshire

  • Cllr Mary Horne, Walton-on-Trent Parish Council for services to the community in Walton on Trent, Derbyshire

  • Cllr Donald Johnson, Winterton Town Council for services to the community in Winterton, North Lincolnshire

  • Cllr Peter Knowles, West down Parish Council for services to the community in West Chiltington, West Sussex

  • Cllr Katherine Laing, Dalwood Parish Council for services to the community in Dalwood, East Devon

  • Lesley Munt, Parish Administrator Brockenhurst Parish Council for services to the community in Brockenhurst, Hampshire

  • Elizabeth Robinson, Throckley Community Hall, Company Director for services to the community in Throckley, Tyne and Wear

  • Mary Taylor, Akeley Parish council, Allotment Officer for services to the community in Burwash, East Sussex

Local Government:

  • Cllr Jean Goad, parish and district councillor, West Sussex receives a MBE for services to local government

  • Cllr Frank Delderfield receives a BEM for services to the communities in Great Totham and Maldon, Essex

  • Cllr Tony French, Chichester City Council, receives a MBE for services to local government

  • Cllr Joan Downing, Westfield Parish Council, receives a BEM for services to local government

  • Lorainne Grocott, clerk to Milland Parish Council, receives a BEM for services to local government

  • Cllr Ron Simpson, Uppingham Town Council, receives a BEM for services to local government
