Stronger local democracy: New town council for Spalding?

Could the door be open for the creation of a new town council in Spalding, the only unparished part of South Holland in Lincolnshire?

While the spotlight has been on the national manifestos, South Holland Conservative Group's local manifesto says residents could benefit from their own town council, able to concentrate on promoting, improving and enhancing the town. They commit to seeking the views of residents, via the Spalding Town Forum and the wider community. So not just a welcome boost for local campaigners who want to bring local democracy to the town but also a shot in the arm to NALC's manifesto objective of more parishes created across the UK.
