The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) is heading to Bishop’s Stortford Town Council in Hertfordshire on 10 and 11 June 2019 for its annual study tour.

On the study tour, you will find out more about the council's community transport for adult social care offer, as well as how it manages its wider portfolio and the challenges it faces.

You will get exclusive behind the scenes access to Bishop’s Stortford Town Council, meeting councillors and officers, and visiting essential sites. Some of the highlights include:

  • Bus tour in one of the council's fleets of community buses and hear how these busses are used to support adult social care

  • Visiting one of the council’s diverse community centres to see how the council uses its money for community services

  • The Tourist Information Centre will offer insight into how it generates income for the town

  • Parks and open spaces to see how this contributes to adult social care in the town, as well as a joint lottery-funded project with the principal authority

  • One of the many allotment sites to see how they contribute to health and well-being

  • Some of the newly rebuilt public conveniences, which contribute to the local economic development

There are only 12 places available, so register your place quickly to avoid disappointment
