The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) announces today that Olivia Butterworth and Anna Calderwood from NHS England and Clare Pelham from the Epilepsy Society will speak at its Spring Conference on 17 March 2020. This year’s theme is health and wellbeing and is aimed at larger local (parish and town) councils.

Ms Butterworth, head of public participation, and Ms Calderwood, primary care networks development support lead, will speak on the severe health challenges that communities are facing, and the best ways to tackle this. The speech will also include information on how local councils can fit into the strategic aims of national health bodies.

While Clare Pelham, the chief executive of the Epilepsy Society, will be speaking at the session regarding hidden disabilities. The session will touch on how experts from across the public sector think local councils can make a difference to people’s lives in a meaningful way to reduce loneliness.
