Ric Holden MP has supported the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) long campaign to end the dreaded toilet tax.

In his column in The Sun, Mr Holden has urged chancellor of the exchequer, Rishi Sunak MP, to use his first budget to put an end to business rates on public toilets to stop further closures forced upon local (parish and town) councils.

Cllr Sue Baxter, chairman of NALC, said: "NALC has long called for an end to business rates on public conveniences. We have been working closely with several MP's through the All-Party Parliamentary Group on local democracy on this matter, and we're delighted Mr Holden has joined Scott Mann MP in calling the government to put an end to this tax."
