Council Spotlight: Hullbridge Parish Council

Hullbridge Parish Council in Essex has an estimated population of over 7,000 with a precept of £165,240 and 13 locally elected councillors. The council is also accredited with the Quality Gold Award under the National Association of Local Councils’ (NALC) Local Council Award Scheme.

The council provides a range of local facilities and services to residents which include a youth centre, sports and social club, recreation ground, library, allotments, medical centre and sailing and yacht clubs.

Hullbridge Parish Council is surrounded by a green belt on three sides and the River Crouch on the northern boundary with over two miles of river frontage the parish is well used by the local boating community. A recent project of the council is the improvement of the recreation ground play area. They have recently installed a new sun canopy, picnic benches, a wave swing and play fishing boat to the existing children's playground which consists of BMX course, skateboard ramps, basketball court and football pitch.

The council is a close-knit community and love to hold an annual Christmas fayre and Wildwood days. Residents can venture into the woods to explore the range of activities or can stroll around the pop-up market place to see what goodies the local businesses and charities have to offer. This event has been running for 14 years.
