Royal Wootton Bassett Town Council is seeking a full-time town clerk and responsible financial officer to serve this historic, unique and nationally recognised town. The successful candidate will help to shape the future of the council in its forward-thinking strategic developments and delivery of public services to our community of now more than 13,000 residents and lead a team of 18 staff members in delivering public services.

Proactive, motivated, and with experience gained through local government at parish and town council level. The ideal candidate will also be commercially-minded with experience in business as well as in local government, CILCA qualified with a track record of collaborative working with elected members in delivering their vision. As a responsible financial officer, the successful candidate will manage a budget of approximately £1m.

The permanent position is full-time (37 hours per week) with regular evening and occasional weekend work, a six-month probationary period and is located in Royal Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire.
