SUMMARY

West Horsley Parish Council is seeking a parish clerk and responsible financial officer, to work collaboratively with West Horsley’s councillors and provide advice, guidance and support to ensure compliance with the statutory and other provisions governing the administration of the council and its affairs. In this role, they will seek out opportunities to develop council services and facilities to meet the needs of the local community.

The council is looking for a team player who can initiate and build effective relationships to enable a collaborative approach to work. You will need to have proven experience in managing accounts, financial controls, budget setting and VAT returns and have a working knowledge with an understanding of the parish council role, functions and responsibilities.

Practical experience of servicing committees is a must, and as this role requires attendance at meetings, you must be willing to work in the evening. The successful candidate will need to hold, be studying for or willing to undertake the Certificate of Local Council Administration (CiLCA).
