Applications are invited for this full-time role (37.5 hours per week).
The balance of work location between home and the existing parish office is negotiable. Thakeham Parish is located north of the South Downs, in the Horsham district of West Sussex.
The council is recruiting to replace their retiring clerk. As well as the usual range of traditional clerking competencies, the parish needs support, particularly in the areas of planning and managing new community assets and related financial accounting.
The requirements of the role strongly favour applicants with existing experience as a parish clerk, or a senior deputy, and either already CiLCA-qualified or on course for completion.
Skills and experience:
- The successful applicant will be a strong written and verbal communicator with administrative and analytical skills, knowledge of local government and the planning system, and competence in financial management.
- S/he also needs their own transport.
