Supporting your local community for the King’s Coronation

Author: Lee Cleaver, sales development account broker at BHIB Councils Insurance

With King Charles III’s Coronation set to take place on 6 May 2023 and a one-off bank holiday announced for 8 May 2023, we know that local (parish and town) councils will be key to bringing our local communities together to celebrate.

With this in mind, we wanted to help and have produced a risk assessment template to support local councils in planning safe events in their community.

The risk assessment covers a range of activities and hazards associated with a Remembrance Day event, including:

  • Physical hazards
  • Weather-related risks
  • Crowd management
  • Equipment failure
  • Management of responsibilities

BHIB Council Coronation Risk Assessment

Please note that the above risk assessment is general in nature and is not likely to cover all potential scenarios. If you are planning a Coronation event in your community and would like more specific risk management advice and guidance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Is our Coronation event covered under my insurance policy?

Confirming that your event is properly insured and includes Public Liability coverage is essential. You are also responsible for checking that external contractors have sufficient Public Liability insurance. If you would like to discuss your event in more detail, please contact us.

If you have any questions or queries on these topical matters, please contact BHIB Councils Insurance for further information at .
