Dover Town Council is recruiting a responsible financial officer (S151) for an active, urban council engaged in a wide range of projects. The RFO will work alongside the Town Clerk within a small, experienced and friendly team. The ideal person will be a chartered/qualified accountant with experience or extensive knowledge of the special requirements of a local council; will be a disciplined and self- motivated team player; and have a positive approach to employing resources to improve the quality of life for our townspeople.
Excellent IT skills required – we use the RBS Omega accounts system. Role will involve day to day and management accounting, budget management with committee clerks and a good understanding of a political environment.
Flexible working can be negotiated but there are regular evening meetings and occasional weekend support required.
