Media Watch is a weekly round-up of the latest major stories on the local (parish and town) council sector.

  1. On BBC Radio 4’s Today programme on 12th August were several features on difficulties for communities to get superfast broadband including several contributions from parish councillors (via BBC Radio 4 (06.34, 07.09 and 08.10))

  2. BBC Radio York Breakfast show highlighted the story of a parish council wishing to expand into a town council to take account of one of the region’s largest council estates expanded. So the parish council is going to consult the community this autumn. It’s all part of the changing face of the community and the attempts to turn around its fortunes: (via BBC Radio York (07.07am))
