NALC wants more local councils to get involved in Volunteers’ Week

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) is calling for more local councils across England to get involved in Volunteers’ Week, which is running from 1 June - 7 June 2017.

Volunteers’ Week is an annual event celebrating the contribution made by millions across the UK. It’s run by NCVO in partnership with Volunteer Development Scotland, Volunteer Now (Northern Ireland) and Wales Council for Voluntary Action.

As part of the Volunteers' Week celebrations, NALC will be playing its part through our Community Champions Week aimed at promoting the amazing 80,000 people who give up time and hold public office as local councillors. NALC will be sharing a number of different items, including news stories, local council statistics, local election statistics, features from councillors and councils, taking part in Twitter parties, as well as hosting a Facebook Live question and answer session. We will also be calling for local councils, councillors and county associations to share their experiences, good practices and stories to help inspire you!

Don’t forget to tweet us @NALC #volunteersweek to tell us how you’re celebrating and share your great photos with us, we’ll be retweeting throughout the week.
