NALC STUDY TOUR: BIGGLESWADE TOWN COUNCIL
Sponsored by Blachere Illumination.
NALC has launched three new study tours across 2020/21 at three dynamic larger local (parish and town) councils. Each study tour will centre around a theme that is relevant to the work of many larger councils. The tours are an excellent opportunity to learn, gain knowledge, share good practice and network.
Come and be inspired by Biggleswade Town Council’s approach to strategic planning. See how this council uses strategic planning to deliver projects across all local public policy areas, working with different bodies.
Twelve places are available to this study tour.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Hear a presentation on strategic planning from the town council
- Go on a bus tour that will visit the proposed housing developments in the Local Plan and see the site for a new secondary school, the site for a new transport interchange at the train station and the green wheel footpath/bridleway route
- Hear about the council's improvements to the high street
- Engage in breakout groups to learn and share good practice on strategic planning with other sector delegates
SUBJECT TO DEMAND
If you would like the opportunity to network with the council and the other delegates, please book accommodation at the brilliant Stratton House Hotel for 25 January 2021 by contacting and reserving one of NALC’s pre-booked rooms, quoting the code NALC Study Tour. Once your room has been confirmed, NALC will separately invoice you.
If there is enough demand for the pre-booked accommodation, NALC will organise a formal evening meal at the Stratton House Hotel for delegates on the same evening.
