NALC opens governance elections for committee members
The primary focus of NALC's governance election process, which spans 14 weeks, with the results announced on 29 November 2023, is to advance the organisation's strategic goals and provide valuable services to its members and stakeholders. All committee members, once elected, will serve a two-year term and will do so without any remuneration.
To encourage participation and representation from all backgrounds, NALC has opened up opportunities for councillors and clerks who are not members of the National Assembly. These individuals have the unique chance to stand for direct elections to the Larger Councils Committee and the Smaller Councils Committee.
NALC has created a dedicated webpage outlining committee information, election seats and timelines to support the election process. This resource is a central hub with regular updates, ensuring transparency and accessibility. Prospective candidates interested in participating in these elections are encouraged to refer to the NALC member role profiles. These profiles offer comprehensive insights into the responsibilities and expectations associated with the various roles within the organisation.
NALC has partnered with UK Engage to manage online elections to ensure a smooth and streamlined election process. This innovative approach is expected to facilitate a more accessible and efficient voting procedure for all involved parties.
