In 2025, our survey with the Action for Communities in Rural England (ACRE) identified a clear need for parish and town councils to have practical tools and support to help their communities prepare for and respond to flooding. Since then, with funding from the Environment Agency and ACRE, a new year-long project has been gathering real-world case studies and building a stronger evidence base for community-led flood resilience.
