The Derbyshire Association of Local Councils (DALC) is seeking a confident, inspiring and articulate chief executive officer to lead our organisation at an exciting time of opportunity and growth. This is a unique leadership role at the heart of the parish and town council sector—offering the chance to champion best practice, shape policy and support grassroots democracy across Derbyshire.

As chief executive officer, you will work closely with our board of directors to deliver strategic leadership across all areas of the organisation; and liaise with national, regional, and local partners, including NALC, principal authorities, and other key organisations.

Your excellent communication skills will be used to support member councils on governance, policy, and operational matters; and lead on advocacy for the sector, ensuring member voices are heard and influencing decision-making; oversee the delivery of high-quality training programmes, events, and sector development initiatives; manage DALC’s finances, governance, and organisational systems, ensuring compliance and efficiency; drive the strategic plan, ensuring DALC continues to grow and meet the needs of its members.
