Clerk and responsible financial officer
Crich Parish Council
Parish clerk and responsible financial officer (RFO) and clerk to Crich Recreation Ground Trust - 23 hours per week.
Crich is a parish in Derbyshire with three main villages, Crich, Fritchley and Whatstandwell plus smaller settlements; there are 12 parish councillors over three wards. The parish has assets including the Recreation Ground, a charitable trust of which the parish council is the sole trustee, a burial ground, the Jubilee Memorial area and the Fritchley Drying Ground. We are refurbishing the public toilets leased from Amber Valley Borough Council and are planning on installing a basketball hoop on the Recreation Ground. This vacancy is an excellent opportunity to join a parish council with a wide range of assets, a committed group of councillors and a very active local community.
The role will be a mix of office and home-based work. The parish has an office within the Glebe Community Centre and it will be necessary to be out and about in the parish at times. Some evening work will be required to attend meetings, normally a monthly meeting on Monday evenings. The clerk is supported by an assistant clerk, who works 8 hours a week.
Remuneration for the role will depend on the successful applicant's knowledge and experience, and the salary range is provided in this detailed recruitment information pack.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record and experience in the local government sector or a similar organisation. More importantly, a successful candidate will demonstrate a real interest in the parish and a dedication to delivering services of the highest quality to residents, businesses and visitors across Crich Parish.
If this sounds interesting to you and you wish to be considered for the role, please download the recruitment information pack and appropriate application form from the parish council website.
