Location: Godalming Town Council Offices, 107–109 High Street, Godalming, GU7 1AQ 
Annual leave: 25 days, rising to 28 
Pension: Local Government Pension Scheme 

Godalming Town Council is seeking an experienced and motivated deputy chief executive officer to join our senior leadership team. 
This is a varied and influential role supporting the chief executive officer in the day-to-day management of the council and the delivery of high-quality services to the community. You will play a central role in committee leadership, staff management, communications, project delivery and the stewardship of community assets. 
 
In the absence of the chief executive officer, you will assume responsibility for the council’s proper officer and responsible finance officer functions. 
 
We are looking for a confident, organised and collaborative senior manager with strong communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to work across a broad range of operational and strategic responsibilities. 
 
Experience in a town or parish council environment is welcome but not essential. Transferable experience from other public service, charitable, voluntary or comparable settings will also be considered.
