Cramlington Town Council in Northumberland have been shortlisted for the LGC Awards 2024 in the community involvement category.

The community involvement category showcases establishing new relationships with local people and communities. Community involvement and engagement are increasingly essential for shaping council thinking, co-designing services and responding to continuing resource pressures. It may also involve direct community involvement in service delivery.

Entrants were asked to focus on summarising the project concerned and the nature of the community involvement, setting out the aims of the project and the extent to which they have been achieved within the relevant timescale, how community engagement contributes to the council’s broader objectives and strategy, and the main drivers of success and the approach the council has taken.

Entries will be judged on evidence of community satisfaction with the process and achievement of the council’s objectives, the depth and extent of community involvement, the extent to which the involvement has influenced service quality, the contribution to the council’s wider objectives, and the sustainability of the approach.

The winners of the LGC Awards will be announced at a ceremony on 12 June 2024 at Grosvenor House in London.
