NALC partners with the Home Office to host a free event on preparing for Martyn's Law
We have partnered with the Home Office and the Society of Local Council Clerks to host a free event on the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, taking place on 21 October 2025 between 12.00 pm and 13.15.
The event will provide a clear overview of what the new Act means (also known as Martyn's Law), which premises and events it applies to, and the practical steps organisations may need to start considering. Although the legislation is not yet in force, the event will help parish and town councils prepare early and understand how the implementation process will work.
Attendees will hear directly from experts about how Martyn's Law will be supported, the free guidance that will be available, and how to plan without needing to purchase specialist services. The event will also include a question-and-answer segment, giving attendees the chance to raise specific queries.
The event is a valuable opportunity to get ahead of upcoming changes, gain clarity, and make sure your organisation is well prepared. Joining the webinar is straightforward and free. Use the Microsoft Teams link along with the details below:

Martyn's Law received Royal Assent in April 2025 and will be rolled out over two years. The Home Office is developing simple, accessible guidance to support those responsible for venues and events.
