Nominations open for the Star Council Awards 2026/27

Nominations are now open for the Star Council Awards 2026/27, the only national awards dedicated to recognising the outstanding achievements of parish and town councils and the people who make them thrive.

From delivering innovative projects and championing local priorities to supporting residents and strengthening communities, parish and town councils play a vital role across England. The Star Council Awards celebrate those making a lasting impact and provide an opportunity to showcase excellence across the sector.

This year's awards feature six categories:

  • Council of the Year
  • Councillor of the Year
  • Young Councillor of the Year
  • Climate Response of the Year
  • County Association of the Year
  • Clerk of the Year

Whether you're nominating your own council, recognising a dedicated colleague or celebrating an inspiring project, we encourage you to share the stories that demonstrate the very best of parish and town council leadership and community service.

Nominations close on 25 September 2026, with winners announced at our Parliamentary Reception at the House of Lords on 23 February 2027.

If you know an individual or organisation that deserves national recognition, now is the time to put them forward and celebrate their achievements.

Thank you to our generous sponsors, Clear Councils Insurance, CCLA, Cloudy IT, Civic.ly, Unity Trust Bank and Utility Aid, whose continued support makes the Star Council Awards possible.
