NALC supports #GivingTuesday

National Association of Local Councils (NALC) is to support the global day of #GivingTuesday on 2 December 2014.

It is a day of giving that asks everyone to show the world why it’s good to give. Whether it’s making a donation, volunteering time or just spreading the work, it is a call to action for everyone who wants to give something back.

#GivingTuesday represents a fantastic moment for us all to celebrate and encourage this culture of giving. NALC would like to encourage communities and people to consider what action they could take on #GivingTuesday and would be delighted if they would be willing to add their support and voice to the campaign. The day also offers a significant opportunity for organisations and causes to build awareness and support for their work.

The UK campaign is being led by the Charities Aid Foundation, and the Cabinet Office is a founding partner. The campaign is already backed by around 300 organisations, from companies like BT, Facebook and Argos to charities both national and local.

The choice of what to do on the day is truly yours, although as a helping hand, the campaign website - provides lots of ideas as to how you could consider lending your support.
