NALC celebrates Star Council Awards winners

In a dazzling event on the first day of the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) Annual Conference, the Star Council Awards winners were announced.

The annual awards celebrate the positive impact local (parish and town) councils, councillors and county associations make to their communities, recognising the achievements of the local council sector.

This year there were five categories, with Northwich Town Council taking the esteemed Council of the Year award.

NALC would like to thank our judging panel of sector professionals who judged the awards, as well as our sponsors and of course all of the entrants and attendees.

Cllr Sue Baxter, chairman of NALC, said: “NALC received a record number of quality nominations to this year’s competition, all highlighting the positive work local councils are doing to help communities help themselves.”

“This year’s NALC Star Council Awards has highlighted that when local councils are called upon to deliver more they do. Local councils are continuously finding innovative ways of delivering services and projects on low budgets and are leading the way in bringing communities back together in the run-up to Brexit. The Star Council Awards winners are the leading examples of this.”

“I applaud all of our winners for this year’s awards and encourage all local councils to follow the example they have set.”
