The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) is holding a new event, Leaders talk: Collaboration for health and wellbeing, on how the different tiers of local government are working together to improve the health and wellbeing of their communities.
The event takes place on 29 October 2020 and is part of NALC's Rebuilding Communities online event series.
The expert panel features:
- Danielle Frost, health and wellbeing officer at the Essex Association of Local Councils, she will talk about health and wellbeing plans, facilitating and promoting the links with partners, and supporting local (parish and town) councils in making their communities more accessible for all.
- Dr Mike Gogarty, director of wellbeing, public health and communities at Essex County Council will talk about how key health issues can be addressed by communities working together, principal authorities supporting local councils to deliver their own local agendas using microgrants and focussed training, and how social media presents great opportunities for even better cohesion in local communities.
- Justin Newman, director of strategy and partnerships at Ageing Better will talk about the impact of COVID-19 on an ageing population, how communities have and are responding, and how rebuilding communities can be inclusive and age-friendly.
