NALC to release a video series on councillor stories

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) is to publish a series of videos telling the stories of local (parish and town) councillors across England.

The video series hears directly from councillors on why they became councillors and what their role is at their local council. The videos cover vital themes of work that councillors undertake such as working with young people, combating climate change, introducing neighbourhood plans, providing community initiatives, contributing to local transport, and supporting their community's health and well-being.

The video series is part of NALC's Make A Change campaign, which aims to encourage people from all backgrounds and experiences who reflect their community to put themselves forward for election this year in May.

Cllr Sue Baxter, NALC chairman, said: "Local councils can only be as useful, connected and energetic as the people elected to run it, so we need councillors capable, enthusiastic and engaged to reflect their communities. These community heroes are proof that you too, can make a change in your community."
