NALC responds to the government's consultation on national resilience

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) has promoted the importance of local (parish and town) councils on national resilience in response to a government consultation.

The Cabinet Office has been consulting on its attempts to create a new national resilience strategy factoring in national and local government bodies – to be better joined up and prepared if a pandemic-style emergency happens again.

NALC has highlighted the crucial role local councils have played over the last 18 months to support their communities through the pandemic. NALC also flagged that many local councils already have emergency plans that are reviewed regularly.
