NALC announces results of its committee elections

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) announced the results of its committee elections at the National Assembly meeting on 29 November 2023.

NALC's National Assembly – a councillor representative from each of the 43 county associations – elects its chair, vice-chairs (finance and member service), and committee members. The elections allow councillors and clerks not on the National Assembly to stand for elections directly to the Larger Councils Committee and Smaller Councils Committee. The committee elections are held every two years, and this year's round began on 23 August 2023.

This year, NALC collaborated with UK Engage to facilitate a smoother and more efficient election process, using the Single Transferable Vote (STV) voting method rather than the first-past-the-post method used in previous elections.

NALC congratulates all candidates elected to governance roles on NALC committees for 2024/25. NALC also thanks the unsuccessful candidates for putting themselves forward.
