NALC announces the latest Local Council Award Scheme results

We have announced the latest quarterly results for the Local Council Award Scheme (LCAS).

Henley-on-Thames Town Council in Oxfordshire, Leighton Linslade Town Council in Bedfordshire and Pelton Parish Council in County Durham achieved the Gold Award. The Gold Award demonstrates that a parish or town council aspires to excellence and is at the forefront of best practice by achieving a high standard in community governance, leadership and performance management.

Bingley Town Council in Yorkshire, Broadstairs and St Peter's Town Council in Kent, South Woodham Ferrers Town Council in Essex and Wickford Town Council in Essex have all achieved the Silver Award. The Silver Award demonstrates that a parish or town council achieves good practice in governance, community engagement and council improvement, going beyond its legal obligations and continuously seeking opportunities to improve and develop.

Bitton Parish Council in Avon, Chelmsford Garden Community Council in Essex, Louth Town Council in Lincolnshire and Tormarton Parish Council in Avon have all achieved the Bronze Award. The Bronze Award demonstrates that a parish or town council has the required documentation and information to operate lawfully and according to standard practice and has the foundations and policies for improvement and development in place.

LCAS celebrates the successes of parish and town councils and provides a framework to support councils in improving and developing to their full potential.

Congratulations to all parish and town councils awarded under the scheme, and we encourage more parish and town councils to become accredited.
