NALC announces the latest Local Council Award Scheme results
We have announced the latest quarterly results for the Local Council Award Scheme (LCAS).
Taunton Town Council in Somerset achieved the Gold Award. The Gold Award demonstrates that a parish or town council aspires to excellence and is at the forefront of best practice by achieving a high standard in community governance, leadership and performance management.
Burton upon Stather Parish Council in East Riding and North Lincolnshire, Bovey Tracey Town Council in Devon*, Colehill Parish Council in Dorset, Exmouth Town Council in Devon, Old Bolsover Town Council in Derbyshire, Pucklechurch Parish Council in Avon and Yateley Town Council in Hampshire have all achieved the Silver Award. The Silver Award demonstrates that a parish or town council achieves good practice in governance, community engagement and council improvement, going beyond its legal obligations and continuously seeking opportunities to improve and develop.
Beeston Regis Parish Council in Norfolk, Downend and Bromley Heath Parish Council in Avon, Salford Priors Parish Council in Warwickshire and Spilsby Town Council in Lincolnshire* have all achieved the Bronze Award. The Bronze Award demonstrates that a parish or town council has the required documentation and information to operate lawfully and according to standard practice and has the foundations and policies for improvement and development in place.
LCAS celebrates the successes of parish and town councils and provides a framework to support all local councils in improving and developing to their full potential.
Congratulations to all parish and town councils awarded under the scheme, and we encourage more parish and town councils to become accredited.
