NALC unveils 2026/27 events programme to power up parish and town councils
We have launched our 2026/27 events programme, running from April 2026 to March 2027, with a strong focus on leadership, resilience, collaboration and the evolving role of parish and town councils.
The new programme brings together policy insight, practical tools and peer learning to help parish and town councils navigate a period of significant change across local government. From planning reform and finance to inclusion, climate action and local government reorganisation, each event equips councillors and clerks with the intelligence and confidence to lead locally.
The programme opens with two free events in April, including an introduction to the Local Council Award Scheme, giving parish and town councils the confidence and know-how to apply for accreditation and demonstrate their commitment to continuous improvement.
Throughout the year, we will explore some of the most pressing issues facing the sector. Attendees can gain up-to-date analysis on planning reform and neighbourhood planning, understand the implications of local government reorganisation, and explore how parish and town councils can secure services and strengthen partnerships in a challenging financial climate.
We will also shine a spotlight on the future of local leadership. Events on inclusive councils, tackling violence against women and girls ahead of White Ribbon Day 2026, and embedding climate action locally will support parish and town councils to reflect the diversity, values and ambitions of their communities.
Member value remains at the heart of our offer. Most events are available at a discounted rate of £35 for members (£50 for non-members), alongside several free events, ensuring affordable access to high-quality sector expertise. Our events provide not just insight, but direct opportunities to hear from specialists, learn from exemplar councils and connect with peers across the country.
Our event programme reinforces our commitment to championing parish and town councils and ensuring they are equipped to thrive in a rapidly changing landscape. We encourage councils to explore the full programme and secure their places early.
