NALC welcomes quicker finance settlements for greater certainty
The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) has been pushing for quicker local government finance settlements for local (parish and town) councils from the government.
We are delighted that Rishi Sunak MP, parliamentary under-secretary of state at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has announced that local government finance settlements in the future are likely to be announced earlier, so giving local councils (and other areas of local government) greater certainty and more time when setting their own budgets.
NALC welcome this announcement and look forward to working with the government in the future to ensure that local councils receive maximum benefit from these reforms for residents and provide early certainty on likely budget projections for their communities.
