survey

The New Local Government Network (NLGN) has published findings from its May 2020 Leadership Index survey.

This was NLGN ninth quarterly leadership survey of chief executives, leaders and mayors from across the UK. The survey asked principal authorities about their levels of confidence in key service areas as well as in wider indicators of community wellbeing. The survey also asked principal councils about their ability to cope with the challenges presented by the COVID-19 crisis.

Key findings from the survey were that:

  • More personal and protective equipment (PPE) is needed for frontline health workers
  • Confidence levels in the economy have plummeted
  • Community cohesion and trust have never been higher
