NALC achieves Cyber Essentials certification — demonstrating a commitment to cybersecurity
The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) is proud to announce that it has achieved Cyber Essentials certification, demonstrating its commitment to protecting its members' data and business operations against cyber threats.
Cyber Essentials is a UK government-backed certification scheme designed to help organisations of all sizes and sectors protect themselves against cyber attacks. The certification process involves a self-assessment questionnaire and an external vulnerability scan to identify any company's IT infrastructure vulnerabilities.
Cllr Keith Stevens, NALC chair, said: "We take cybersecurity very seriously at NALC, and achieving Cyber Essentials certification is a testament to our commitment to keeping our members' data and operations secure. The certification process has helped us identify any areas for improvement and given us confidence in our cybersecurity measures."
Cyber Essentials certification is becoming increasingly important, with many requiring it as a prerequisite for doing business. NALC encourages local (parish and town) councils to take cybersecurity seriously and to consider obtaining Cyber Essentials certification.
