NALC seeks writers for its Good Councillor's guide series

WRITER-3

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) seeks writers for Good Councillor's guide series.

The Good Councillor's guide is essential for new councillors, those thinking about becoming a councillor and long-established councillors. This guide introduces the work of local (parish and town) councils and the part councillors play in the first tier of local government, closest to the people.

NALC is looking for an individual to work freelance to lead the update of this guide. The right person for this work will have a good knowledge of how local councils operate, and in particular, a strong understanding of the role of a local councillor and a passion for helping councillors in their roles. You will also have experience in writing best practice guidance and be able to provide examples of your work. NALC is committed to finding someone to work on the guide and a more comprehensive range of resources over a more extended period

NALC can provide training and support to build knowledge and confidence, so if you are interested in this opportunity and would like an informal discussion, please email NALC at . To submit your interest, complete the form by 1 June 2023.

NALC is a membership organisation and the only national body representing the interests of local (parish and town) councils. NALC provides a national voice for local councils across England and campaigns on their behalf, raising awareness of their work and providing them with various services to support their needs.
