SUMMARY

Hanham Parish Council wishes to appoint a part-time forward thinking and proactive clerk who is responsible for the day to day working of this parish council. This is an exciting opportunity for a community minded individual with relevant experience to undertake an interesting and varied post. 

The candidate should have good microsoft office, written, oral and numeracy skills as the role is financial and administrative. A certificate in Local Government Administrations (CiLCA) qualification (or be willing to obtain) with previous experience working in local government would be advantageous but not essential. Training and support sessions with Avon Local Council’s Association and the Society of Local Council Clerks (SLCC) will be provided to help your development in this role. 

The successful applicant will ordinarily work from home, does not have to live in the parish but must be able to attend two monthly evening council meetings in Hanham. There is some flexibility in working hours and a computer, printer/copier and telephone will be provided along with a home working allowance.
