The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) has announced the latest Local Council Award Scheme (LCAS) results.

Alvechurch Parish Council in Worcestershire, Bollington Town Council in Cheshire, Moulton Parish Council in Northamptonshire and Saffron Walden Town Council in Essex have all achieved the Quality Gold Award. The Quality Gold Award demonstrates that a council aspires to excellence and is at the forefront of best practice by achieving a high standard in Community Governance, Leadership and Performance Management.

Angmering Parish Council in West Sussex, Bishampton & Throckmorton Parish Council in Worcestershire, Halewood Town Council in Lancashire, Harling Parish Council in Norfolk and Seaton Town Council in Devon have all achieved the Quality Award. The Quality Award demonstrates that a council achieves good practice in governance, community engagement and council improvement, going beyond its legal obligations and continuously seeking opportunities to improve and develop.

Ashton Hayes & Horton-cum-Peel Parish Council in Cheshire, Chipping Norton Town Council in Oxfordshire, Great Waltham Parish Council in Essex, Hayle Town Council in Cornwall, Hullbridge Parish Council in Essex, Liss Parish Council in Hampshire, Loftus Town Council in Cleveland, Mildenhall High Town Council in Suffolk, Ponsanooth Parish Council in Cornwall, Shavington-cum-Gresty Parish Council in Cheshire, Sherborne Town Council in Dorset, Sprotbrough & Cusworth Parish Council in Yorkshire and Startforth Parish Council in County Durham have all achieved the Foundation Award. The Foundation award demonstrates that a council has the required documentation and information to operate lawfully and according to standard practice and has in place the foundations and policies for improvement and development.

LCAS has been designed to celebrate the successes of the best local (parish and town) councils and provide a framework to support all local councils to improve and develop to their full potential.

NALC congratulates all local councils awarded under the scheme and encourages more local councils to become accredited.
