New members joined the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) Smaller Councils Committee at a meeting on 18 July 2023.

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) Larger Councils Committee agreed that councillor training should be mandatory following the committee meeting on 28 February 2023.

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) Smaller Councils Committee recommends that councillor training be a part of the Local Council Award Scheme's criteria following the committee meeting on 21 February 2023. 

Four places for direct election to the NALC Larger Councils’ Committee for the tenure November 2014 - 2016 will be available from the date of the NALC Larger Councils’ Conference – 03 December 2014.
